Φοίνιξ Do you ever have an album by an artist that you love that for whatever reason, you didn't like when you were younger and now you can't get enough of it? That's Permimeters by Aes Dana for me. For whatever reason, I couldn't get in to this release about 7 years ago but now, I rediscovered this release and oh man, I am so glad I did. Sometimes you just gotta go back and give something another listen. Favorite track: Anthrazit (feat.Field Rotation).

Michael Pankratz This album is a relentless drive of emotive beats and haunting melodies. Before discovering Aes Dana, I didn't know music could be this beautiful and devastating at the same time. I put this album on when I need to be creative. When I need to relax. When I need to get in touch with big emotions. What this music leads me to is always my best. I think it would be difficult for me to overstate both how moving and unique this album is, and how much it's come to mean to me personally. Favorite track: Resin (overspring edit).

about

Vincent Villuis lifts the veil on a vibrant album filled with a fragile melancholy and yet refreshing intensity; as always altering and fusing light and darkness while playing with the idea of close and distant environmental resonances.

His music has taken a new depth, enriched by his encounter with German composer Christoph Berg and his experience as an "artiste en residence" at Les Dominicains de Haute Alsace, an ancient cloister revamped into a music hall where the artist ambled within the walls to record echoes and atmospheres and infused them in his compositions.

All along [ Perimeters ] atmospheric electronica flirts with neo-classical space music, warm downtempo grooves and basslines roll upon hypnotic pads, fragmented drums imprint beats into still and ecstatic layers of field recordings and subtly AES Dana throws in pushy and enthusiastic progressive trance bringing a driving force to the musical journey.

11 stunning tracks to take us beyond the perimeters of our microcosmic life.
